To Sleep or to Spring out of Bed: Spring Break Options

How do you tell someone winter is over? You spring it on them!
Ahh, spring break. Time where college students around the world choose whether or not they accomplish absolutely everything or nothing they put on their list for the week. For some, mid-March can be pretty overwhelming! You may feel pressure to go on a cruise to the Bahamas because your friend has the past few years in a row. Or, that if you don’t clean every closet in your house in the name of the season you’re a failure.
I say, just enjoy yourself, how you can and wish to! Relish in the ten days we get to do whatever we want. As of March 19th, it’s officially spring time! Here are some suggestions on what to do this beautiful vacation:
● Visit with people from your hometown that you normally don’t get to see.
● Go on a bike ride, hike, or walk somewhere scenic.
● Invite some friends over and have a game night.
● Try your hand at a hobby you’ve been meaning to pick up.
● Volunteer somewhere you’ve always wanted to.
● Take a road trip with no planned destination! Just make sure to have some cash, car snacks, and a suitcase packed with the essentials.
For my introverted friends, who are much more satisfied resting, I leave you with some favorite pastimes:
● Have an indoor movie night (with or without others). Stock up on snacks at Dollar Tree.
● Take yourself to a thrift store and have a ball! (Maybe even find a gown)
● Cozy up with a book outside on a nice day, or in your living room with a cup of your favorite tea.
● Re-decorate your space! Declutter and rearrange to match your environment to what you want.
● Practice yoga poses. (I’m trying to get better at savasana, and trust me, it isn’t as easy as it looks!)
● Catch up on sleep. And maybe some Netflix. You’ve earned it!
● Remember that taking care of yourself comes first. So, get outside when you can! Smell some budding flowers, soak up the sun, and feel the breeze.
