The High Cost of Skipping Class

By: Jess Goode
Your 8:00 class starts in 30 minutes, but you were up late last night – you mean to hit the snooze button one more time, but sleeping in sounds and feels like such a good idea. Yet did you ever consider that skipping that one class in reality will cost you $34 and change? This is around the same price as 10 cups of coffee, getting your car filled up with gas, a few movie trips, getting lunch 5 times, or even a concert
As we all know, college is very expensive, yet sometimes we don’t consider the costs of skipping a single class. The fees for classes also depend on the major you are going for. The most expensive majors at Salem State are science and health majors. In-state tuition at Salem is $10,277.50 and $16,705.78 for out of state students. These are very reasonable prices, and cheaper than most other schools, yet it is still unquestionably expensive.
Maybe we should consider these costs, the next time we think about skipping class!
