Surviving September at SSU

By: Those savvy Red Skies staffers, who have been through this before!
-Screen shot a photo of your schedule into your phone. NOW. -Explore campus. Relax and read in one of the Adirondack chairs – wicked comfortable. -Get to know SSU's academic calendar. -If you’re in over your head in a class – switch out. -Go into downtown Salem before it gets too crowded in October. Bring your Clipper Card, lots of places give discounts to SSU students. A 15 minute walk down Lafayette Street gets you there. -Get your sleep. -Take a daytime walk or bike down the bike path, note the changing leaves. -Make some new friends. -Explore extracurricular possibilities, such as joining the Red Skies staff.| -Find your professors' offices and note their office hours. Visit them! -As President Keenan urged at Convocation -- call your parents -- they love to hear from you. Bonus tip: Enjoy SSU. Enjoy this year. Partake of all the possibilities before you!
