Self-Love on Valentine's Day

By: Jennifer Hendricks
Valentine’s Day is THE day of love. And you want to know the best way to celebrate? Make it the day of self-love.
Make Valentine’s Day, the day all about you. Think of it like a second birthday, except the next day you can get candy half-off.
To start off your day, you should wear your favorite outfit. Wear the outfit you feel your best in, such as that sexy black dress, band t-shirt, pajamas, sweaters, full face of makeup, no makeup, or nothing at all. For guys, your most relaxed jeans, and your smoothest/softest shirt.
Then you need to turn on the best jams. Put on your absolute favorite playlist. The playlist that can get you dancing, singing, and happy. And while you are jamming away to your amazing playlist, cook or order in all your most wanted full course meal. I’m talking about 3 courses. Appetizer, entrees, and dessert. Nothing says, “I love myself” more than making/ordering your favorite full course meal.
During the time it takes you to cook/order your food, take the time to acknowledge your closest peeps. Tell them how much you love them. You can give out compliments and/or small gifts. Invite friends to eat with you, which will make your day even better.
Once the food is available to eat, put on a good movie, or binge-worthy show, and relax. Take a load off. Avoid doing your homework (for just this one night) and/or other real world responsibilities.
Valentine’s Day is about love, about you, about finding that happy place for all of us. Do whatever is going to make you the happiest. Eat some ice cream! Take a nap. Smile.
