Longboards

In Salem, Massachusetts, there are many finger-licking good restaurants. One of the newest places to this list is Longboards Cafe & Bar, 72 Wharf Street, which is only a year old. Their award-winning sandwiches and lobster rolls and signature flatbreads will not leave you hungry!
A fun fact about Longboards is all of their meals are named after locations on the North Shore! Their flatbreads are named after streets in Salem and the names of their gourmet sandwiches are derived from beaches. When I dined there I ordered their most popular flatbread, Lafayette, which has chopped pepperoncini, cream cheese, signature cheese blend, red sauce and topped with a healthy drizzle of sriracha. All of the flatbreads’ crusts are baked with crushed red pepper garlic oil.

My friend Christen McLaughlin, a criminal justice major at Salem State, ate the Devereux sandwich, which is named after Devereux Beach in Marblehead. The sandwich contains grilled chicken breast, basil pesto, ranch dressing, and mozzarella cheese. “I loved the Devereux sandwich. It’s healthy and really tasty. I especially love the pesto sauce Longboard uses.”
Every single Longboards’ sandwich is a gastronomic delight and is served with lettuce, tomato, onions, and a pepperoncini on a braided Italian roll. Additionally, the sandwiches come with a side of pita chips and giadineria, which is a pickled vegetable mix. Christen enjoyed her side so much she brought it with us when we went to the movies afterwards.
With its laid-back atmosphere, satisfying meals, and affordable prices, Longboards is the perfect place to dine for college students!
Did I mention they accept Clipper Card?
