Life Alive

Are your new year healthy eating habits falling off the list of priorities? Need help putting things into motion? Don’t wander farther. There is a restaurant in Downtown Salem, free of anything artificial, that debunks the whole bland and boring health myth and will actually have you craving a plate full of veggies!
Life Alive is a vegetarian eatery that uses only the purest and cleanest ingredients. In 2014, it was named one of North Shore Magazine’s “Best Of North Shore.”

I ordered the Sufi Poet Salad- red lentil humus, cranberries, raw cashews, cucumbers, granny apples, shredded carrots, sun-sprouts, spring greens, and Balsamic Vinaigrette.

What I love about smoothies is they're cool and refreshing whilst being a meal in itself. Photographed above is the Lust Alive Smoothie- strawberries, bananas, candied ginger, cinnamon, raw cacao, ice cream, and rice milk.
The start of the new year is always a love-hate. On the hand, there’s that feeling of re-set and the chance to turn over a new leaf. At the same time, the holidays are over and the weather in New England is cold and rough-and-tumble. But the organic food at Live Alive will not only leave you feeling like you’ve got a new body, but less overwhelmed when hit with the semester’s stresses.
