Farewell From Our Social Media Publicist
January 29, 2015

Dearest December Graduates,
The time has come for us to bid adieu to our beloved Salem State University. For those of us graduating a semester early— congratulations and good job! For those of us graduating a semester late – it’s finally over.
Salem State University: a school surrounded by bone chilling history and passionate town residents. The university that never ceases its architectural growth despite its never ending parking debacle. This is the school where I spent the past three and a half years of my life chasing after a dream; the one most of us share. I was lucky enough to witness parts of the university’s growth as it constructed a new library and currently works on its sixth residence hall. I look back on my time at SSU with relief and sadness, as I remember the exciting and devastating emotions and experiences I had here. While I do plan to walk across the stage with the spring graduates in May 2015, it saddens me to know that I won’t be able to revel in more classes this university has to offer. I also look toward the future with worry and confusion that most December graduates (and all graduates for that matter) do. What is waiting for us outside of these secure walls? While we question the fate of what awaits us now, we know that our time at Salem State has given us the strength and support needed to keep calm and carry on.
With that, I say my goodbyes to the December graduates. You all are filled with the passion and skills needed to lead you to a bright and successful future. Now go on and write the next chapter of your life.
Cheers,
