Costumes 101

By: Samantha Lombardi
Dressing up on Halloween is essential here at SSU! For a full 24-hours you can morph yourself into something else. Some people choose to dress up as their favorite cartoon characters, while others explore the dark side, and this year we have to think that there will be some orange faced guys with a wild blonde hairdo, and a number of carefully coiffed blondes in pants suits.
Whatever your costume is, here are some top tips about the basics of costuming:
If you are going to wear a mask, make sure it has appropriate eye holes. You need to be able to check out that cute girl/guy.
No fake weaponry. Leave it home.
Make sure you have footwear you can really walk in. No heals – that goes for girls & guys.
Body paint? Read all ingredients carefully, as you could get a huge allergic reaction from it, as that’s not fun at all.
Plan ahead -- don't be the only person at the party without a costume.
Finally, whatever costume you decide on, have a backup.
Have a wicked good time downtown.
